SonarRadio celebrates its 1st anniversary with Richie Hawtin

SonarRadio has been on the airwaves for a year and it is celebrating this weekend with a “Hawtin Weekend,” a 48-hour special on the Canadian's artistic universe.

SonarRadio began broadcasting on 5th May 2008 in order to raise public awareness of the music at Sónar, thanks to a collaboration with ScannerFM.

One year later, SonarRadio is still increasing its content and listeners. In order to celebrate in style, it has lined up “Hawtin Weekend," a 48-hour special focusing on the Canadian producer and dj Richie Hawtin, following the confirmation of his participation at Sonar 2009 performing at Sonar by Night on the Friday 19th. The special will start at midnight on Friday 8th May (GMT+1) and finish at midnight on Sunday 10th (GMT+1).

The special will include his tracks as Plastikman, F.U.S.E. and under his own name, as well as the excellent material on the two labels he has headed - Plus 8 and M_nus.

The SonarRadio first anniversary celebrations will continue all week long and you can follow them in the special sessions by some of the most interesting artists appearing at Sonar 2009, in ‘SonarSessions’, a programme that starts at midnight every night (GMT+1). This is the special programme list for this week: Bullion, The Gaslamp Killer, SV4 and Michna, Bomb Squad, Hawtin Weekend and Radio Om.
