Accustomed to working in both the commercial and artistic spheres, Quayola experiments with media that are usually thought of separately. He is an audiovisual artist and graphic designer, and his work combines video, photography, installation and live performance as if they were all part of the same language. The piece he presents here, entitled "Path to Abstraction," is a perfect example of his modus operandi, which explores the relationship between audio and video, and is inspired by the physical representation of sound itself, in order to be able to "see" sound waves at the same time as listening to them.
